Rick & Terri Young

Rick and Terri have always had a strong desire to build financial security for their family. Rick's strong drive came from experiences he had while growing up. During some of Rick's High school years, his family lived in a single wide trailer house and he had to share a bedroom with 3 younger brothers. He set goals back then to definitely have something better. His mother had always taught him to work hard and she emphasized the importance of a college education.

Well, there was no money for college. So he went to work in the oil field and he loved it! He studied and worked hard and within a year he became a Driller. He thought he had it made and decided this would be his career. He was making way above average income but this only lasted about 3 years in the Roosevelt, Utah area. Then he found himself jumping from state to state to stay employed. His great career had become more hassle than what it was worth. But luck came his way and he went to work at an oil refinery in Roosevelt, Utah. Once again he worked into a way above average paying job. Then to top it off, Pennzoil bought the refinery. With a big name like Pennzoil, he thought he had it made for sure! He had worked at this refinery for nearly 10 years when a notice came from Pennzoil that they were downsizing and shutting the refinery down. What a disappointment! There was just no guarantee in Corporate America.

Fortunately he had learned to "not keep all of his eggs in one basket." Two years prior to the refinery shutting down, he had an opportunity that enticed him to study the Fast Food Industry and fill a need in his town by putting in a Subway Sandwich franchise. Later when he learned that the refinery was closing, he studied the growth that was going to come to the Spanish Fork, Utah area and decided to build a Taco Time franchise there. Both of these businesses have done very well, which made it possible for him and his family to stay in their home town and not be forced to move like most of the other refinery workers had to do. They were ok finacially, but now Rick was on the road all the time and had no time freedom.

For years Rick had people approaching him about network marketing opportunities. He was never very interested because he had never seen any ordinary people make anything, to speak of. But he did want to keep an open mind, because he learned a long time ago that a closed mind could cost you more than anything else in life. You can't make an intelligent decision until you have all of the facts and study them out.

Finally, Rick had a friend tell him about USANA. He didn't have the time and wasn't very interested. His friend pestered him just enough to get him to go to a USANA briefing. Rick's friend was brand new, but he told him about some people, in his area, making way above average incomes. So, he and his wife decided to go see if this was really true. They were Shocked! It was True! It all made sense. They opened their mind and were excited. Not only did they stay for the briefing but they also stayed for the distributor training. They signed up, started using the products and had incredible results.

In just 6 months of sharing USANA part time, Rick and Terri were making more in USANA than in the Taco Time and Subway combined. What really blew Rick's mind was the fact that each franchise was an investment of over $200,000 that they had to have the bank help them out with. USANA was simply a distributor kit which they put on a credit card. Now that's starting a multi million dollar business on a shoestring.

$85,000 is the average annual income for established, full-time USANA Associates. $23,300 is the average annual income for Associates who earn as little as one commission check a month. Total includes all earnings from the compensation plan, Leadership Bonus, and contests and incentives. Calculations based on earnings between February 2008 and January 2009. Figures should not be considered as guarantees or projections of actual earnings, which result only from consistent, successful sales efforts. To be considered in a rank's earnings, Associates must have earned checks at a median rank for at least 16 weeks. According to results from an in-house survey taken between 2004 and 2006, the primary reason 17% of USANA independent business owners join the company is to improve their financial future. 21% of that group earns a check at least once a month. Of those whose primary reason is to earn enough to replace a full-time income, 41% have been Associates for at least one year and 56% are full-time Gold Directors and above. The number of Gold Directors and above who have maxed at least 1 Business Center during the year equals less than 1% of all Associates. Those earning as little as one check a month equal approximately 3% of all Associates. The average annual income for all 158,934 USANA Associates, including those who are brand new or who are not actively building a business, is $618.55, with nearly one in three earning a check. To date, USANA has more than 130 Million Dollar Club members.
